“It is not possible for us to forget what it means to be an animal and yet remember what it is to be human; for we are animals, first and foremost, and the wrongful amnesias our cultures forcibly impose upon us to are not merely deprivations… they amputate the most fundamental aspects of our being and necessary relationships as natural creatures.”

“It is not clear that it is our role to save the world or be a great hero. Indeed, the greatest heroes are most often anonymous; we hear nothing of their name or quests, but rather, the nature of the world is transformed by their sacrifice, creativity and love.
What is within our power is to rescue our own lives, our own humanity, wonder, kindness and vitality of life in relation. It is well within our capacity to be kind and encouraging mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and strangers. It is within our power to return a sense of a universal and yet intimate family to our daily lives and encounters, moments and situations. It is within our power to be kind, generous, gentle, aware, attentive and caring. But it is not merely within our power.
For our natures crave these very experiences and roles I speak of. There is something heroic in each of us, and I know it awaits a call… from the world, each other, a moment or a glance. The powers of angels are less than ours, but much of this is hidden by how we are distracted, confused, or repurposed by the superficial qualities of our common contexts.
It is a virtue that the challenges that are greatest are most often closest to home, and it is a virtue that in rescuing our own minds and lives the world is renewed. It is a virtue that we can learn to re-family our lives, our hearts and the world. It is a virtue that calls for heroism of the most ordinary and common kind. And that this heroism that is called forth is also the key to a trap our people have struggled to overcome for millennia.
So let us remember each other and this history together. Discover, renew, and honor the lives and sacrifices of those who came before us. For it is within our power to not merely accomplish their dreams and justify their errors and suffering, it is our destiny. It is the very nature of our births, trials and lives. This is our humanity, and we must work with great care and attention together… to reestablish it for ourselves, each other, the children…the mothers… the fathers… for the world and all its creatures and living places.”

“It is my perspective and experience that languages are cognitive operating systems; they emphasize, dismiss and delimit or focus our concerns and attentions on particular features of possible worlds and situations, objects and agents. For this reason, languages are implicitly dangerous traps, and few of us will develop the necessary skills to take actual advantage of the technologies language comprises. It is also my feeling that many people are working at an extremely rudimentary level of awareness within language, and for them, a language like English is a slave-making situation — like having only salt or pepper to cook with — and no idea that spices exist, in part due to never having direct experience of them.”

“It is clear that the animals and plants are directly aware that a radical transformation is happening. There isn’t merely ‘another world’ that is the mind of nature, there are almost infinite layers of intelligence in nature that, while still accessible, humans have forgotten ‘the protocols’ for contact with (this is, in part, due to our overwhelming fascinations with representations (i.e. words/images), objects and machines — which replace or cannot participate in these primordial relationships).
Many indigenous ‘traditions’ still contain remnants of some of the methods with which our people were once able to participate directly in relationships with the intelligences of nature. Some few of us have retained various degrees of these abilities and are still able to take part in the old relationships. We can sense something of both the nature and depth of the transformations that are now occurring, and we are not unaware of their origins and purposes.
While there is no need to put too fine a point on it, the humans have not merely broken the ancient agreements with the living world, they have obliterated them with unimaginable hubris. Anyone who has experience with the consequences of such hubris will understand the gravity of the resulting situations.
We long ago passed the point of no return, as a species, and as nations… even though we did not necessarily personally approve of the activities of the collectives.
Now, there will be consequences — and their origins are as certain as their severity.”

“It is as if there is something in another universe like a strange blanket. And the blanket is shot through with stars, which are animals, living places, acts of great beauty or nobility, moments of reverence, situations, incidents… and people of the past, present and future…
And up there… in the strange blanket… there is a web-like mesh that connects a constellations of these … features… and, like a cone… it descends… perhaps along what appears to be a single thread… into incarnation.
So that, up there, you have this vast familial network… of participants and relationships… and down here you have… a tree, or dolphin, a cat… the Amazon Rainforest, the Sahara Desert… or the human being writing this.”

“It is as if the humans kept slicing into the umbilical cord that connected them to the womb of nature … until, after every possible concession to necessity… it snapped.
And then, they looked around in great confusion, trying to understand the causal factors from beyond themselves that surely must have resulted in this grave calamity.
Later, they would invent stories of this to ensure their progeny had medicine during times of great travail. But for the moment, they were without insight. Lost. Alone. Abandoned.
The parents had departed. And they did not return.”

“It has long been obvious that at least one, and more probably several advanced nonhuman intelligences (ANI) are presently observing the internet. The question is whether or not and how they may choose to more actively contribute, which is to say: directly manipulate the minds of its participants, real and corporate. The simple fact is this: the participation of nations and corporations comprises two ostensible proofs of this conjecture — for these are examples of human-produced nonhuman intelligences. Yet what I here speak of is not these, nor does it have its sources or purposes in any common property local to humans as an isolated species. I speak of something that is not a machine, and not a fictionally empurposed human conceptual collective, but rather, other forms and orders of ANI.”

“It has become the inveterate habit of the common people: to distribute diseases that have camouflage themselves as insight. Awareness. Truth. Justice. Wisdom.
Often these take the form of images, or images with text attached. Surprising how compelling such media can be… especially in the bizarre vacuum of anything resembling an intentionally forged, intelligent society…”

“It collapses a cloud around various possible identities until one emerges, and… from then on it both suggests this derivative is what it is identified… and that its likeness, though vague… is appropriate or even ‘correct’ in the sense of identities as they are understood by the waking mind.”

“It appears that the popular inability to understand why people must wear masks in public to protect each other is masking the fact that many otherwise ordinary people have become absolutely incapable of understanding… almost anything at all, and are now the belligerent ‘warrior-victims’ of news and social media campaigns engineered to produce this precise result.
If you can’t understand this, you may presume that, in your case, the campaign to sew discord and ignorance… succeeded.”
